As laid out in our Medium-Term Management Plan for FY2011 to FY2013, the TSE group is working to strengthen the competitiveness of the Japanese financial market by proposing policy measures and releasing information beyond the framework of an exchange.
Specifically, our activities include conducting research based on the three fields at the foundation of TSE market operations and measures: macro and microeconomics (financing); and market rules and regulations. Based on these activities, the TSE group will generate and disseminate its policy measures and other information.
To begin with, the TSE group decided to invite professors from universities to speak in workshops on macroeconomics. From among issues facing the Japanese economy, these workshops held by the TSE group will focus on topics which are expected to have a huge influence on both the economy and financial markets.
Professor Naoyuki Yoshino from the Department of Economics, Keio University spoke on "Challenges facing the Japanese Economy and the Financial Markets" in the first workshop on September 14, 2011.
(Further information on this initiative is available only in Japanese.)
