Yes. Just as Japanese companies are listed overseas, so foreign companies are listed on TSE. The section for foreign stocks was opened in 1973, when TSE was coming to the fore as a leading player in the international financial markets. Currently there are 38 foreign companies listed on TSE. Of these 14 are from the US, 7 are from Germany, and the rest are from countries across the globe. Recent years have seen the listing of companies from Hong Kong and Malaysia. Some of the household names you might recognise are IBM and Volkswagen , to name but two.
