Tokyo, July 5, 2010 - Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) hereby announces that "arrowhead" has won the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (Grand Prix) Award in the IT Japan Awards 2010 (hosted by Nikkei Computer (Nikkei Business Publications, Inc.) and sponsored by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, with the support of other IT-related institutions and companies). The TSE's next generation trading system was launched on January 4 this year.

The advance of information technology has had a significant impact on the securities market, making it commonplace for individual and institutional investors to place orders not only by phone and at securities companies but also through the Internet.
In addition, new trading methods such as DMA (Direct Market Access) and Algorithmic trading are also becoming more widespread. The launch of arrowhead has greatly contributed to further development of this situation, which dramatically changes the business model of the Japanese securities market. TSE feels that the contribution arrowhead is making to society has been highly appreciated.
