Evening session

TSE introduced an evening session (15:30 ~ 23:30) on September 18, 2000 in response to new economic developments taking place after 15:30. The extended trading hours will provide investors with increased opportunities to use JGB Futures and Options on JGB Futures for hedging and arbitrage of their trading in the cash market, and the 3-Month Euroyen Futures and Options on Three-Month Euroyen Futures markets. It will also increase access to the market for investors in Europe and elsewhere during their normal business hours. The evening session will be open for trading of 5, 10-year, and mini-10 year JGB Futures and Options on JGB Futures.
Margin and mark-to-market requirements for transactions during this session will be as for those of the next business day. Contract months will expire at the end of the afternoon session on the last trading day, and the new contract months will start from the morning session of the next business day. An evening session will not be held on half-day holidays.
